I don't even know what to think about this well-intentioned charity calendar by the FCK H8 people (other than I really, really, really want one). I guess if it's for charity calendar, then these guys aren't "str8 for pay." Could they be the real deal? What do you think?

Ever since I saw the movie Latter Days I sort of developed a little fantasy about those strapping young bucks in starched white shirts and solid ties. I'd even spotted quite a few 'elders' this summer riding their bikes from door-to-door, thumping bibles, and spreading the good word all over town. Well, here's an item to be filed in my "never thought I'd see that happen" category. It's the 2008 Men on a Mission calendar, and it only makes that good Mormon boy fantasy even more vivid.
Believe it or not, each of these hot guys is a real-life Mormon missionary. According to the Men on a Mission website, "These hunky young men of faith explode with sexuality on each calendar page. Hand-selected for their striking appearances and powerful spiritual commitment, the 'devout dozen' are stepping away from the Mormon traditions of modest dress, and 'baring their testimony' to demonstrate that they can have strong faith and be proud of who they are, both with a sense of individualism and a sense of humor."
The calendar's promoter, Chad Hardy, comes from a sixth generation Mormon family and completed a two-year mission himself. He founded Mormons Exposed as an effort to lift the veil and debunk some of the myths and misperceptions surrounding the religion - encouraging people of every belief system to be more tolerant of one another.
Hhmmm... after seeing this, I know I can definitely show more tolerance the next time one of the elders knocks on my door.

The calendars, which are available for sale now on the Mega Muscle web site and will be available in June on Amazon.com retail for $24.99 and 100% of the profits from the preorder sales of these calendars is being donated to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).
"I think Derrick, Julian and all of us here at Mega Muscle realize that we owe so much to the gay community," explains Mega Muscle founder Brian Rusch. "We chose GLAAD because the press put both Julian and Derrick through the ringer recently. Derrick actually lost his job after his first appearance in Playgirl and Julian very nearly did this year after the New York Post story. In addition to being for a good cause, the new calendars are also stunning. The Fantechi 2008 Calendar is a full color has been photographed by a selection of some of the top photographers including Burk Jackson and Bunker Monday. The Davenport calendar is a special collaboration between Derrick Davenport and photographer Steve Henry and shows four years of their work together.
This is the first time either model has had a calendar completely devoted to them and the response has been phenomenal. "I think both guys realize that when they were named Playgirl's Man of the Year, suddenly they have a level of attention on them - that is sort of overwhelming," Rusch continues.
