I've recently come under fire by a colleague of whom I'm currently working on a creative project. His point is that I need to seperate my "MasculineCurves" photographic work from the project for fear that it may alienate the audience. In other words, 'don't talk about the project on your blog' was the message I heard. So I ask myself, what is art? It's all so subjective. What offends one may be perceived as intriguing to another. Right?
I was told that some people just won't get it and will simply view my work as porn. Is it really? Is what I do really just an excuse to make porn? Or is it art? What is art? Or perhaps, for some people, my work provokes the same brain chemistry they experience when viewing porn. It's then that they feel ashame, or dirty for appreciating it. I dunno... just a thought...
